The meaning
In 47 BC Julius Caesar beat King Pharnaces II at the Battle of Zela so quickly that he reported it to Rome in three words: veni, vidi, vici. I came, I saw, I conquered. Two years earlier he had led his army across the Rubicon into Italy, a move with no way back, and said alea iacta est: the die is cast.
Read together, the coin tells the order of a win. You decide, and you can't undo it. You show up and see it through, usque ad finem, to the very end. Then you get to say veni, vidi, vici.
The design
The front crosses two Roman short swords between two legionary helmets, under LEGIO X, Caesar's favorite Tenth Legion, inside a Greek key border. On the back, a Roman eagle spreads its wings above a shield marked SPQR, the Senate and People of Rome.
On good days and hard days
- On good days, it celebrates the win and reminds you how you got there: commit, show up, see it through.
- On hard days, when a decision scares you, it gives you Caesar's courage: the die is cast. Commit, and go to the very end.
Carry it
Keep it for the decision you have been circling. Read alea iacta est, make the call, and stop looking back. One customer calls it their favorite coin, symbolic and proverbial at once.
Give it
It is a strong gift for a win that took real commitment: passing the bar or medical boards, a promotion, selling a business, coming home from a deployment. History lovers like that most of the words on it come straight from Caesar's own story.
Specs
- Diameter: 1.54 in (39 mm), about the size of a silver dollar
- Thickness: 2.7 mm
- Weight: about 1 oz (28 g)
- Material: brass alloy (Antique Silver, Antique Bronze) or solid copper (Antique Copper)

- Each coin is antiqued with a special patina so it looks like it has already been in circulation. The patina never settles the same way twice, so no two coins look exactly alike. Small variations in color and shading are normal, and they are what make your coin one of a kind.
